Meet Our Chefs

Our all-volunteer staff of Italian chefs work hard to create our Wednesday dinners, Friday pizza, and lavish special events.

Carl Novelli

“Big C”

Carl, our kitchen manager, volunteers his time while working with a great group of people and showcasing his love for cooking. Carl’s Grandma taught him how to cook. “If a Sunday fell on the 29th, we had gnocchi for dinner. My grandmother put money under the plate for good luck.”

Tony Andola

“Tony Cigar”

Tony is originally from the Hudson Valley, New York. Through the years, he did BBQ there with his father, and owned a pizzeria and a bagel shop. Tony’s aunt taught him how to make the sauce. He is a past president of the Italian American Club and was chairman of three festivals.

Nick Zinni

“LITTLE NICK”

Born and raised in Philadelpha, Nick helped his father prepare Sunday dinners, making homemade pastas, meatballs, and other Italian dishes. Nick is a partner in a pizza and pasta Italian restaurant in New Jersey. He is currently acting as our president, is a past director, vice-president, and president.

Mike Fiore

“Mafia Mike”

Mike was given his nickname by his Air Force buddies after “The Godfather” novel was published. His mother and aunts inspired him to become an Italian cook. When Mike lived in Connecticut, he raised chickens and made pizza in his own pizza oven.  “Ah la pizza.”

MIchael Novelli

“GRILL KING”

Michael is a roofer working at “Freedom Roofers” by day and a volunteer cook on Wednesday nights. This married father of two enjoys the fun and family feel of the Italian American Club.

John DiGeorge

“the Chopper”

(sous chef) John wrote down all his mother Delphine’s Italian recipes as they cooked together … the sauce, the meatballs, the gnocchi, the knot cookies, and the pizzelles.
